Merchandising Funeral Products

January 13th, 2010

In commerce, visual display merchandising means maximizing merchandise sales using selection, organization, pricing, and display that stimulates consumers to spend appropriately. This includes disciplines in pricing, presentation of products  and the decisions about which products should be presented to which customers at what time. This is the type of control and methodology that is as useful for Funeral Directors as it is for anyone else.

Flexibility and control are key to effective merchandising. It’s not about manufacturers of products dictating what should be shown and how it should be shown. It’s about individual funeral directors using their judgement, based on their intimate knowledge of the community they serve that makes merchandising appropriate and effective.

Families coming to make arrangements are counting on the funeral director to understand their needs first and then guide them through what can be a confusing array of products in our industry. The easier the funeral director can make the process, the better it is for all concerned. Selection, presentation and price working seamlessly make the process as easy as it can be.

Customer Comments

December 2nd, 2009

At FuneralKiosk, Inc. we pride ourselves on customer satisfaction. We listen to our customers and have implemented many new features for our software based on the comments from our users. Because we’re a national company, this has meant complying with the sometimes unique requirements necessary for funeral homes in individual states. In California, for instance, the requirement is to show a disclaimer before showing caskets. This is easy for the “paper way” of making arrangements, but less so for the electronic way.

We took on this challenge and added the functionality so that when caskets are clicked on a disclaimer can appear and not only can the funeral director choose what to say, but they can also choose how long they want the disclaimer to appear. We rolled this out to all our customers, giving them the ability to turn it on or off as they saw fit to meet their local requirements.

If your state requires something from you during arrangements and you don’t see it in the FuneralKiosk, please let us know and we’ll work to make sure we support you. As always, if you would like more information about our software or company, please visit our website at www.funeralkiosk.com
